Random Acts of Kindness

Happy Monday! Last week was our last week of class here at USC, which means this week is final exams. *insert crying emoji*

I somehow ended up with only one final exam (and it's online ptl!) and three final papers this semester, so this week isn't too, too stressful for me.

Because I have an easier load this week, I decided to do something for some of my friends who weren't as lucky to escape their finals! Do you know how in elementary school you'd have RAOK (random acts of kindness) day/week every year? During this week, we would spend time writing thank you notes and making gifts for our bus drivers, lunch ladies, and teachers. RAOK week was always my favorite time of the year growing up because I get so much joy in gift giving. I think it's why Christmas is such an exciting season for me.

I decided to get a little crafty and make some cards for two of my friends encouraging them for the upcoming week. I picked some puns for the cards that reflected each of them and then finished off the gifts with some sheet masks and twizzlers!

If you're looking to treat someone for any occasion, here's some other gifts that I love giving:
-A "your next coffee's on me" $5 starbucks gift card
-A dvd and popcorn
-Fresh flowers and hand written card
-A coffee mug filled with k-cups

I would encourage you to make it a goal this week to do something nice for someone else! It really does feel so good!

I hope you enjoyed this different type of post today! Make this week a good one!

How To Manage Your Time In College

Juggling school, work, and a social life is not an easy game to play, people! This is something I've had to figure out this semester, as I've started my internship. Let me preface this by saying I am definitely not the most organized (or social!) person I know, but I thought I would share some things I've learned over the past couple of months:

1. GET A PLANNER// I really can't stress this enough. If you're a visual person like I am, you probably know how much having/utilizing an agenda can save your life. I use mine to keep track of exams/homework due dates, birthdays, meetings, blog posts, events.. I could go on and on... I am a firm believer in color coding, and I live for the "month at a glance" sections of my agenda.  I have an agenda from Ban.do this year (seen in pic above) and it's very similar to the Lilly Pulitzer ones. Mine says "I Am Very Busy" on the front and I always get compliments on it! I'm considering ordering the matching notebook. and phone case. and coffee mug. oops.

2. MAKE A WEEKLY SCHEDULE// No, I don't mean that you have to schedule out every minute of every day, but on Sundays I like to spend time preparing by writing down everything I know I have coming up that week! This helps me stay on top of my schoolwork and blog posts, as well as lets me see when I have free time to do fun stuff. Which brings me to my next point...

3. MAKE TIME FOR FUN// If you're anything like me, as soon as you get any free time you're in bed watching Netflix or taking a power nap! Because I'm working about 25 hours a week, taking five classes, and running my blog, it's so easy to just crawl into bed when I have down time. While rest is important, I don't want to sleep away fun moments with my friends! I'm already almost half way finished with college.... ahhhh

3. PRIORITIZE// It's so easy to want to do everything life throws at you, so it's good to always know in the back of your head what things come before others. (aka school is #1)

4. LEARN TO SAY "NO"// In the wise words of Monica Gellar, "I've got this uncontrollable need to please people!!" Hahaha! This is something I struggle with because I always want to be two places at once, but it really is okay necessary to say no sometimes. And again, I've had to learn to put my schoolwork first.

5. SCHEDULE SOME "ME" TIME// This one's my favorite!! There is nothing like sitting down and taking some time to myself! One of my favorite weekend activities is going shopping by myself. I've even started laying by the pool by myself with music! So relaxing.

Hopefully this gave you some inspiration as the semester starts to end if you are struggling with balancing your time! What are your tips on managing your time? Leave a comment below!

LBD for Spring

(follow on instagram for more!)

One of the interesting things about the spring semester in college is figuring out how to spend your weekends. During the fall, the weekends are typically revolved around the football games, so during the spring semester, there's usually more time to make your own fun!

This past weekend, the weather was gorgeous and I took a day trip to the beautiful city of Charleston! I could write a whole book about the things I love about Charleston, but today I'm just talking about how to create an easy laid back look for spring.

I love to slip on a dress or romper when the weather warms up, because you don't have to think about putting an outfit together! For this trip I decided to keep it classic with an LBD, simple sandals, and minimal jewelry. This type of outfit is my go to for spring!

I did have to include the food that we had that day because it was too good not to share! Above you see BBQ Shrimp & Grits from Charleston Crab House (I also had calamari for the first time!) and ice cream from Kilwin's! My friend Jenny (pictured above) just started a blog and posted yesterday, if you're interested in reading more about what our day looked like in Charleston on Saturday!

I would love to do a post highlighting my favorite spots around Charleston if that would be of interest to you all!

The $20 Off the Shoulder Dress Your Spring Wardrobe Needs

Blue off the shoulder dress (less than $20!)// Black version of my shoes// Similar brown shoes here and here//

One of my favorite things about the weather warming up is being able to wear bright colors again! I seriously wore so many all black outfits this winter I was starting to scare myself... haha

But really, what better way is there to celebrate the temperature rising than a bright dress like this one!? I told myself I needed to stop buying off the shoulder items because the obsession is starting to get a little out of hand, so I compromised by pulling this dress I already had from last year out again!

I love the scalloped edges and cut out details, and the color of it is even more bright in person! The best part is, it's only $19, yet feels SO much more expensive!

The site I ordered this dress from, SheIn, is actually doing a "spend more, save more" type promotion right now, so it's the perfect time to stock up on spring/summer items at such a good deal.

Here's the details of how you can save:
